Exposed Aggregate Concrete
An endless choice of texture, patterns and shapes.
Exposed Aggregate is the name given to concrete which has the top layer of concrete removed by washing or blasting to expose the aggregate. This creates an attractive, low maintenance, durable and anti-slip surface.
With a wide range of size, colour and shape there are endless possibilities and our In House Design Service can create an original and unique design for your driveway, patio or path.
Achieving great results comes from over 25 years experience and by combining that knowledge with the right aggregates the effects can be outstanding.
Common colours are Black, Grey, Brown, Green and White, available in different shapes and sizes the surface appearance and texture is as individual as you wish it to be.
Aggregates are applied using three methods:
Seeded – aggregate is applied to the concrete surface and compacted
Topping – aggregate is applied to the upper layer and exposed
Integral – aggregate is part of the poured concrete and exposed
Aggregates are exposed using two methods:

Washing – a broom and a hose pipe are used to gently wash away the surface to create an even finish
